Kindred File 01 LP on White

After years of searching and a lot of questions and uncertainty about finding this record, I finally completed this two piece collection. Record collectors will laugh with the fact that I call this a collection since there are only two variants but these babies are two of the hardest to find records from the GOOD LIFE catalogue.

I already made a post about this about a year ago, that you can look up here, if you want to read how I look at this. It is actually one of the records that had a huge impact on me when I was a teenager.

And then around 15 years later and about 4-5 years into collecting records I finally found the record on colorwax:

So I figured I needed to take a picture of both of them:

So this is it, one of my last posts about collecting, as I actually dream about making and releasing records. But I realize that it is hard to start a record label in Europe so these dreams could remain only dreams...

3 Important Notes About FF Blogspot

  1. I do not longer support any download blog. This is a trend that will only lead to decay of the quality of the music industry and it's very survival. I really do not understand how they can pride themselves in ripping the music from a format, putting it online and then share it with the world while you have actually done nothing. And they are severely ripping of labels and bands that did not give their permission to use their own work. And remember that all this is still a crime. If you 'd do this with the music from major labels you'd have a bailiff at your doorstep very soon. I do not see why hardcore labels are an exception, it's just on a smaller scale. So I have removed xStuckinthepastx and xOnePathx from my bloglist and followlist. I may be spoiling all the fun but I take respect for others work before fun in crime. I hope this is clear now! I was convinced of doing this once and I did it, but have actually taken down the DL short after and apologize to those who did the work for it, you know who you are...
  2. If you have anything to say about this, feel free to do it, but do it in my face only and not behind my back...
  3. I made a comment to this on SITP but they actually did not publish the comment, fuel on my fire for sure!

REAPER RECORDS Is Looking For Old Records (trade content)

Along with the shirt I ordered from REAPER RECORDS (see previous post) there were three papers announcing this:

So I figured somehow Patrick Kitzel wanted me to share this to other collectors (since there were three of them in the parcel). So my next thought, move was putting this on my blog, to increase the reach of this to the maximum I can!!

I think that the old guys (since he is looking for old records) who read my blog really need to consider this. From my own experiences I know that Patrick Kitzel is a very friendly and reasonable person to deal with.

Makes some trades people!!

You're welcome !

ANTIDOTE Repress: What A Relieve!

antidote thou shalt not kill nyhc reissue colors of first press bridge 9 records vinyl

I was very relieved to hear that this was going to be repressed. Since Bridge 9 already released the Project X reissue, the AF "Victim In Pain" and "United Blood" reissue, the underdog 7" reissue, this was only waiting in line I guess.

I ordered all three colors in order to keep them safe in my own record collection. This record won't get pressed often while hardcore exist. And as you might know already this is the only legal repress since the record's inception in 1983. I also ordered the CD version of this because this is the kind of pure and real hardcore I need to keep me going. Every time I listen to these songs I immediately feel like going further with my hardcore activities, embodied in this blog. This is true primal NYHC and everybody needs this in their collection! Those who do not have all colors, don't ask them from me, it was relatively long available from the B9 store in the pre-order package. Relatively because this is a highly desired gem for collectors and the OG goes for these prices. But do not panic, it is still for sale everywhere in Red and White.

ANTIDOTE plays fast and trashy hardcore that was a huge influence for later bands. The band originated in the Lower East Side NY in 1982 and had originally 4 members, including one of the Misfits and one who was a roadie for Bad Brains. It was the first time the NYHC sound was produced so clearly on a record.
Lyrically this is pissed of and hateful, about not having a job and foreigners taking these jobs. But also hate towards the nazi youth. Also streetwise lyrics; realizing that the young really do not need to die on the streets and that everyone shares the same faith in the end. And that the streets shelter many games, that he Louie doesn't need. But also anger against the masters of war and the drafts they do. It is a self-explanatory and conversational way of writing lyrics.

Anyway, enough said about this, go pick up a copy and find out how this sounds and get more insight into the influences of the song-writer for instance in a cool story on the back of the insert. I repeat, ESSENTIAL!

PS: If you do need a green copy, search ebay, because I already saw one popping up there (as usual)...

Random Recent Recordscores (80's and 90's)

This post is to share what records I obtained in the last month and that I haven't been able to make a post about. So this is another trademark RANDOM RECENT RECORDSCORES post!

The first one is very interesting to hear; you can already feel the metallic sound in hardcore coming on this one. Because this was released in 1989 it is one of the earlier bands that did this. This one is red vinyl out of 1500 and exist also on black out of 3500, which brings us to 5000 in total. So for a hardcore label this was a very ambitious first press.

EDIT: not to be confused with the Nu-metalcore band who wears those masks and plays nowadays. Thanks Jasper!

Another record that was in the process of making a band famous, is this HARD STANCE 7". As far as I know this was the first record that Zach De La Rocha along with others made, in his way of becoming huge with his later band Rage Against The Machine. It comes on Clear wax but haven't got a clue about the pressing details although I know it exists on black wax also. I thought this was essential to hear and have so I picked it up along with the Slipknot 7" on ebay.

This is the most cool record from that auction round of the same American seller; ENCOUNTER "Lost" on purple wax. As to way I bought this; it was a band that did a split with Blindfold, so it wasn't really new to me. Definitely not sorry, on the contrary, because this is very cool to hear, early 90's hardcore (1991) that can certainly define the sound of that era.

Another collectible was shipped to me straight out of the land of the rising sun, Japan! The second release of the popular NJ band FURY OF FIVE. This is the Euro pressing on INNER RAGE Records. Not often a French label brings out something cool but this label definitely did with the release of KICKBACK's "No One Gets Out Alive" 7" and ONE LAST SIN's "The Fall Of Darkness" 7". Very rare ones and hard to find, but already a while in my collection. This one; "Telling It Like It Is" is also very good sounding, not crucial for the sound development of Hardcore but good NYHC music nonetheless.

Alternate 1995: Help a Brother Out!

While this is a bump for a sale that NICK (one of the two founders of Limited Pressing) is doing. I take the opportunity to introduce his blog called Alternate 1995 and another invitation to use Limited Pressing as well. Limited Pressing hosts my store and I'm very satisfied by the store platform they created. And it is actually the first selling method and marketplace that actually fully feels right, so this is my way to show gratitude for their hard work and hospitality!

TESTPRESSES of bands like Blacklisted, H2O and Skarhead as well as current sxe bands like ON and Mindset on a variety of colors... amongst other NYHC and even more:
